Tarique Rahman, Anwar Ibrahim hold one-to-one meeting
Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a one-to-one meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Monday morning.
The two leaders met at 9:30AM (local time) on the fifth floor of Perdana Putra, the Prime Minister’s Office in Malaysia’s administrative capital, Putrajaya.
According to relevant sources, they exchanged views on various regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The Bangladesh delegation includes Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Ariful Haque Chowdhury, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit, the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Finance and Planning Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir, Overseas Employment Adviser Mahdi Amin, Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam, along with other senior government officials and policymakers.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in Malaysia on Sunday on a two-day official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The visit is regarded as one of the most important diplomatic engagements of his tenure and among his first foreign visits since assuming office. It is expected to open new avenues for cooperation in trade, investment, labor migration, and strategic partnership between the two countries.
