Security measures have been strengthened at all airports in the country, including Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital.

Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmood Siddiq confirmed the matter on Monday.

The move follows intelligence warnings of possible militant attacks on important installations in the country.

Officials said the CAAB issued a high alert after receiving a warning letter from Police Headquarters.

They said surveillance at airports has been increased following the warning. In particular, additional security personnel have been deployed at key entry points, terminal areas, and other sensitive installations at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Earlier, the Bangladesh Police issued a high-level intelligence alert warning of suspected coordinated attack plans by members of a banned militant organisation, with potential targets, including the National Parliament and other critical state and public installations across the country.
