Missing Bangladeshi student Nahida Bristy also confirmed dead in US
Bangladeshi student Nahida Sultana Bristy, who was missing in the United States, has been confirmed dead by the US police, her family has said.
Her brother, Zahid Hasan Pranto, confirmed the development, stating that police informed the family of her death, although her body has not yet been recovered.
Earlier, on Friday (24 April, local time), police in Tampa, Florida recovered the body of another missing Bangladeshi student, Jamil Limon, from the Howard Frankland Bridge.
In a Facebook post on Saturday morning, Pranto said police had contacted him with the update. “They informed me that DNA from a body part found in a blood-stained condition inside a residence matched my sister,” he wrote, adding that it remains uncertain whether the full body will be recovered.
Nahida Sultana Bristy was a former student of the 13th batch of the Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Noakhali Science and Technology University.
