Narsingdi District Association Holds Annual Picnic and Reunion in New York
The Narsingdi District Association USA Inc. held its annual picnic and reunion in a festive atmosphere on August 30 at Heckscher State Park on Long Island, bringing together expatriate Bangladeshis from Narsingdi and their families.
The daylong family event was formally inaugurated with the release of balloons by members of the association’s executive committee and invited guests. AKM Afzal Ul Monir, president of the Bangladesh Law Society, attended as the chief guest, while former president and Board of Trustees Chairman Azharul Ishaq Khoka was present as the chief patron.
The program was conducted under the direction of association President Shamim Gafur and General Secretary Ehsanul Haque Babul. A special souvenir titled “Meghna” was also unveiled during the event.
An organizing committee led by Jasim Uddin Khandaker as convener, Iqbal A Bhuiyan as chief coordinator and Ziaur Rahman as member secretary managed the event.
The daylong gathering featured sports competitions for children and adults, cultural performances and a raffle draw. Bangladesh Society Inc. President Md. Ataur Rahman Selim, General Secretary Mohammad Ali, and representatives of various social and business organizations in New York also attended as special guests.
