Iran Threatens Attacks on US Companies Amid Economic Pressure
Iran has threatened to target US companies and economic interests if Washington imposes further economic sanctions on Tehran in an effort to force an end to the ongoing conflict.
Mohsen Rezaei, a senior official of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, warned that US allies participating in Washington’s economic campaign would also be considered enemies and could face attacks.
The warning came after US President Donald Trump announced plans for an unprecedented campaign of “economic warfare and isolation” against Iran.
Rezaei said Iran had so far targeted mainly military bases but could expand its attacks to US oil and economic interests if Washington imposed additional sanctions.
Iran has not specified which US companies or facilities could become targets. However, American businesses have significant investments across the Gulf region, including in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
Iranian officials have also warned Gulf countries hosting US military aircraft and fuel tankers that they could face attacks. Tehran has previously targeted energy infrastructure in the region.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed support for an agreement to end the conflict, while claiming that the world has already recognized Iran’s victory.
The latest threats have raised concerns over the potential impact on US businesses, energy supplies and regional stability as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to escalate.
