Community organizations in New York are set to distribute free food items among low-income and underprivileged families in Jamaica, Queens, ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.

The initiative is being jointly organized by Human Concern USA, Prothom Alo Foundation USA, and Save the People. The food distribution program will take place on May 21, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at Elham Academy, located at 87-41 165th Street, Jamaica, New York.

Organizers said the program aims to share the joy of Eid with struggling families, particularly those facing financial hardship and difficulty affording essential food supplies.

The distribution will follow a “first come, first served” system, and participants have been advised to arrive early to ensure access to the available assistance.

Representatives from Prothom Alo Foundation USA emphasized that community welfare remains their core mission, noting that such initiatives help ensure no one is left behind during major religious and cultural celebrations.

Officials from Human Concern USA and Save the People also stated that they regularly work to support vulnerable communities across New York and plan to continue similar humanitarian efforts in the future.

Community members have been encouraged to participate and support the initiative, which organizers described as a collective effort to strengthen social solidarity during the festive season.
