The Mirsarai Association USA NA Inc. organized a vibrant cultural event in New York celebrating Bangla New Year (Pohela Boishakh), an Eid reunion, and the inauguration of its newly formed committee. The event took place on April 18 at the Ikra Party Hall in Jamaica, bringing together a large number of expatriate residents from the Mirsarai community.

The celebration turned into a lively community gathering with the participation of community leaders, intellectuals, families, and attendees of all ages, from children to seniors. Organizers described the event as a meaningful platform for strengthening unity among expatriate Bangladeshis.

The newly inaugurated committee pledged to enhance the organization’s future activities and strengthen engagement within the diaspora community.

The program featured a colorful cultural segment, including performances of traditional and regional songs that created a festive atmosphere reminiscent of Bangladeshi cultural heritage. Children also participated in cultural performances, adding energy and vibrancy to the celebration.

Guests were served a variety of traditional Bangladeshi dishes, including fish and meat-based meals, which organizers said helped recreate the taste of home for attendees living abroad.

The event also marked the celebration of Pohela Boishakh through cultural performances and festive gatherings, while the Eid reunion fostered a renewed sense of unity, brotherhood, and community bonding among expatriates.

Leadership of the organization, including President Abu Taher Mia and General Secretary Shakhawat Hossain Selim, extended New Year and Eid greetings and congratulated the newly appointed committee members.

The event organizing committee, led by Convener Nazrul Islam Chowdhury and Member Secretary GM Morshed, along with joint coordinators and community representatives, also attended the program.

Organizers stated that such initiatives will continue in the future to further strengthen cultural ties, unity, and social connection among the Mirsarai expatriate community in the United States.
