Fundraising Event Held in Support of Assembly Candidate Mary Jobaida

Community members from various sectors are coming forward to support Mary Jobaida the candidate for New York State Assembly District 36 Campaign events discussions and fundraising activities are underway in preparation for the election There is widespread interest and excitement within the community as they hope to send a Bangladeshi American to the New York State Assembly for the first time

As part of this effort on Saturday December 20 a family fundraising dinner was organized in the Bronx by real estate entrepreneur and North America coordinator of the environmental organization Dhara Selina Uddin. The event brought together professionals and young community representatives in a warm and informal setting

Speaking at the dinner Selina Uddin said that Mary Jobaida is not only a Bangladeshi American candidate but also a longtime organizer involved in civil rights and social movements She has worked continuously on pressing issues in New York City including housing shortages public transportation education and healthcare She emphasized that Mary Jobaida can play an effective role in the Assembly as a strong voice on these important matters and called on everyone to stand behind her

Mary Jobaida expressed gratitude to all attendees for their support and encouragement She said that addressing everyday civic issues of ordinary people is the core focus of her political work and noted that if elected with the support of the community she would feel proud and honored to serve as a Bangladeshi American

Attendees participating in discussions included Ibrahim Chowdhury editor of Prothom Alo North America teacher Sheikh Al Mamun civic organizer Roksana Majumdar physician Dr Nahid Khan civic organizers Syed Utba and Syed Elias Khasru Abu Chowdhury Hriday Onirban Khandakar and students Syeda Zaima and Syeda Zaina Speakers described Mary Jobaida’s candidacy as timely and promising and expressed optimism about active participation in her campaign
