The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka has reminded travelers that individuals on a visitor visa (B1/B2) are not allowed to work while in the United States.
In a statement released on Saturday, the embassy clarified that B1/B2 visas permit certain business activities, such as negotiating contracts, attending conferences, or participating in meetings. However, receiving payment from a U.S. employer or performing work for an American company is strictly prohibited.
The embassy urged visa holders to adhere to these rules, warning that violations could result in penalties or impact future U.S. visa applications.
