U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled a 20-point Gaza peace plan on Monday at the White House, receiving Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s endorsement. The proposal calls for a ceasefire, the release of hostages by Hamas within 72 hours, disarmament of the group, and a gradual Israeli withdrawal, followed by a transitional authority headed by Trump.

Netanyahu affirmed Israel’s support for the plan but warned that Israel would act independently if Hamas rejects the proposal. Trump reiterated that Israel would have full U.S. backing in such a scenario, while describing the plan as a historic opportunity for peace.

Global reactions were largely supportive. Eight Arab and Muslim nations, including Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan, praised the initiative. European allies also welcomed the plan, urging all parties to seize the chance for lasting resolution.

Hamas has yet to formally respond. In Gaza, displaced residents expressed skepticism about the plan’s potential, while the Palestinian Authority welcomed the U.S. efforts.

Key elements of the proposal include the deployment of a temporary international stabilization force and the involvement of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair in the transitional authority. The plan leaves the possibility of future Palestinian statehood, though details remain subject to negotiation.
