Tarique Rahman arrives at Dhaka Airport
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka from Sylhet.
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying Tarique Rahman landed at the airport at 11:44am on Thursday.
Ahead of Tarique Rahman’s arrival, leaders and activists of the party have taken positions in and around the airport area to welcome him.
Since early morning, party supporters have been gathering along key roads near the airport, carrying banners, festoons, and party flags.
Security measures in the area have been tightened, with law enforcement agencies maintaining vigilance to ensure order.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, party’s Standing Committee members and other senior leaders entered the airport’s VIP lounge around 10:00am to welcome Tarique Rahman.
Earlier, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying Tarique Rahman, his wife Zubaida Rahman and their daughter Zaima Rahman, landed at Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 9:55 am, marking his first return to the country in more than 17 years.
