Swedish Embassy in Dhaka Stops Processing Schengen Visa Applications
The Swedish Embassy in Dhaka has stopped processing Schengen visa applications, directing applicants and sponsors to contact the Swedish Migration Agency directly for all visa-related matters.
The embassy announced the decision in a notice on Monday, November 2, confirming that it will no longer handle Schengen visa applications.
According to the notice, applicants must now contact the Swedish Migration Agency regarding Schengen visas, appeals related to invitation letters, specific application inquiries and other related matters. The embassy has also provided relevant website links for further information.
The embassy further clarified that it is no longer authorized to provide guidance, information or assistance concerning Schengen visa applications.
As a result, both visa applicants and their sponsors have been advised to direct all Schengen visa-related questions and communications to the Swedish Migration Agency instead of contacting the embassy in Dhaka.
A Schengen visa allows short-term travel across 29 European countries within the Schengen Area. It generally permits holders to stay for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.
