Rotary Club of Hope New York Celebrates Second Installation Ceremony

The Rotary Club of Hope New York, under Rotary District 7230, held its second installation ceremony (induction of new leadership) on Sunday, 17 August, at a terrace venue in Brooklyn.

The chief guest was Rotary District Governor (DG) Garrett Kapabian Ko. Special guests included New York State Senator Lirit Komri and prominent Bangladeshi media personality Sharmin Nahar Laki. Rotary Area Governor Abid Ragbi, distinguished Rotarian Amir Asadi, and other respected Rotarians, especially Sujan Swam and Mizanur Rahman, added vibrancy to the event. Also present were former President of Rotary Club New York Queens, Rotarian Nobraj Casey, and Rotarian Raihan Jaman, along with Pioneer Rotary Club founder Abdur Noor and former Rotaractor Mir Rob Khasru with family.

Rotarian Atikur Rahman, convener of the installation committee, inaugurated the ceremony with a welcome speech. Convenor Rahman then handed over the responsibility of conducting the event to Charter President Rotarian Rownak Ahmed, who ensured a lively program.

The main ceremony began with a welcome speech by outgoing President and current Vice President Kazi Jamil Ahmed. DG Kapabian Ko administered the Rotary oath to the club’s new President, Abdullah Tarek Mohammad, and inducted the new board members.

In his speech, DG Ko praised the club’s overall activities and expressed hopes for a bright future. New York State Senator Lirit Komri thanked global Rotarians and presented a special certificate to the Rotary Club of Hope on behalf of the senator, which Charter President Rownak Ahmed received. Certificates of honor from the senator were also presented to Kazi Jamil Ahmed, Abdullah Tarek Mohammad, and Convenor Rotarian Atikur Rahman.

Convenor Atikur Rahman also presented honor crests and certificates to Mohammad J. Moral and Chief Financial Officer Arafat Rahman of the club’s sponsor organization, Moral Orthopedics.

New President Abdullah Tarek Mohammad and Secretary Faisal Mahmud delivered lively, strong, and collaborative speeches. Other Rotarians and supporters received honor crests and certificates from Charter President Rownak Ahmed and outgoing President Kazi Jamil Ahmed.

Rownak Ahmed introduced the club members, who include Abdullah Tarek Mohammad, Faisal Mahmud, Soweb Khan, Sohel Parvez, Convenor Atikur Rahman, Sanjana Tasmin, Rubaiya Rahman, Sayla Rashid, Shantanu Sajjad, Arif Mohammad, Shamima Ahmed, Khalida Hossain, Fatima Awal, and Mohammad Sabur Alam.
