New York Senior Adult Day Care (NYSADC) brought together senior citizens, their families, and members of the Bangladeshi community for a day of celebration during its annual picnic and reunion at Hempstead Lake State Park in West Hempstead on July 20.

The day-long event attracted participants from across the New York metropolitan area and featured a variety of recreational activities, music, family gatherings, games, and a traditional picnic meal.

Organizers said the event was designed to strengthen friendship, social connections, and family ties among senior citizens while providing an opportunity for participants to reconnect with longtime friends in a relaxed and festive setting.

Throughout the day, senior members took part in cultural performances, recreational games, and friendly competitions. Winners of various contests received prizes during a ceremony attended by community leaders.

Speaking at the event, Lion Shah Newaz, President of Golden Age Home Care and Chief Executive Officer of NYSADC, emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for seniors to remain socially engaged and connected with the community.

Chief Financial Officer Zahid Alam and Director Ranu Newaz also addressed the gathering, highlighting the organization’s ongoing commitment to improving the well-being and quality of life of senior members through community-based programs and activities.

Organizers said the annual picnic and reunion continues to serve as an important platform for fostering companionship, promoting active lifestyles, and strengthening community bonds among Bangladeshi-American seniors in New York.
