New Committee Announced for Bangabandhu Parishad New York Chapter at International Book Fair
The new committee of the Bangabandhu Parishad New York Chapter has been officially announced on the second day of the Bangabandhu International Book Fair held in New York, USA.
The announcement was made by Dr. Nurun Nabi, a distinguished scientist, Ekushey Padak awardee, writer, and veteran freedom fighter of the Liberation War.
According to the newly declared committee, Shahkawat Ali has been appointed as President, while Subrata Talukdar has been selected as General Secretary. Prominent cultural figure Siraj Uddin Sohag has been named Senior Vice President.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Nurun Nabi said the organization will work to promote the ideals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the spirit of the Liberation War, and the values of a secular Bangladesh among the Bangladeshi diaspora in the United States. He added that the new leadership is expected to strengthen and further organize the chapter, expanding its influence within the expatriate community.
The newly appointed leaders pledged to make the organization’s activities more dynamic and effective. They also announced plans to form a full committee within the next three months.
Expatriate political, social, and cultural leaders present at the book fair congratulated the newly formed committee and expressed their commitment to working together in unity.
