‘Nabanno Restaurant–2’ Opens in Jamaica Hills with Festive Celebration
A new chapter began for Bangladeshi cuisine in New York as ‘Nabanno Restaurant–2’ officially opened its doors in Jamaica Hills. The grand opening took place on Saturday, November 1, in a festive atmosphere. Popular Bangladeshi film actress Moushumi inaugurated the new branch by cutting the ribbon, in the presence of community leaders, businessmen, journalists, and representatives of various social organizations.
The restaurant management stated that the new branch was launched to bring high-quality, authentic Bangladeshi food closer to the Bangladeshi community in Jamaica. They announced plans to gradually open five branches across the city’s five boroughs to ensure the community can enjoy quality meals conveniently.
Owner Muhammad Kader said the decision to open a branch in Jamaica came from the growing demand for authentic Bangladeshi food in the area. “Many of our customers travel from Jamaica to Jackson Heights to enjoy Nabanno’s food, which costs them time and money,” he explained. “This new branch is our effort to make it easier for them. I want our community to eat well and stay well. Prevention is better than cure, and here we promise quality food in a family-friendly environment.”
The new Nabanno Restaurant branch will offer a wide variety of traditional dishes, including Haleem, Old Dhaka-style Bihari kebab, Kacchi biryani, and other flavorful appetizers. During the winter season, the restaurant will also feature an assortment of traditional Bangladeshi pitha (cakes). A special attraction includes six different flavors of fuchka, along with jhalmuri, chotpoti, and regular combinations of bhorta, fish, and meat dishes.
Guests at the opening ceremony praised the initiative, saying the new branch adds another favorite destination for Bangladeshi food lovers in Jamaica. They expressed hope that Nabanno Restaurant–2 would become a go-to spot for families looking to enjoy authentic Bangladeshi flavors in a pleasant and welcoming setting.
