The Muslim Ummah of North America (MUNA) hosted its three-day annual convention at the Pennsylvania Convention Center from August 8–10 under the theme “Torchbearers of Islam, Spreading the Faith Globally.” The event drew more than 20,000 Muslims from across the U.S., turning downtown Philadelphia into a hub of Islamic cultural celebration.

Speakers emphasized Islam’s message of peace for all, urging unity among Muslim nations to end Israeli aggression in Gaza and to support the creation of an independent Palestinian state. Parents were called upon to raise the next generation as “light-bearers of Islam,” countering misconceptions and upholding strong moral values.

The convention featured seminars, youth and sisters’ programs, robotics and AI workshops, cultural performances, an Islamic marketplace, and a matrimonial session for unmarried professionals and students. Notable scholars, including Dr. Shaykh Mizanur Rahman Azhari (virtual), Imam Siraj Wahhaj, Sheikh Abdur Rahman Khan, and Sami Hamdi, addressed various sessions.

Founded in 1990 in New York, MUNA operates in all 50 U.S. states, promoting personal, moral, and social development. Organizers say the convention will continue to serve as a guide and gathering place for future generations of Muslims in North America.
