Khalil Biryani Gains Popularity in Jackson Heights with Expanded Menu

Jackson Heights’ Khalil Biryani is becoming increasingly popular among food lovers due to its diverse menu and improved food quality. The restaurant is attracting customers with a variety of traditional dishes, including duck pulao, chicken pulao, mustard oil-infused tehari, and kacchi biryani. These flavorful offerings are drawing both locals and visitors seeking authentic South Asian cuisine.

The introduction of an in-house kitchen has significantly enhanced the taste, aroma, and overall quality of the food. Previously, the restaurant relied on externally prepared meals, but direct cooking has allowed better control over freshness and standards.

Sources say the Jackson Heights branch had long been unable to operate a full kitchen due to the lack of a gas connection. However, the issue was resolved on December 19, allowing the restaurant to regularly introduce new menu items.

Following the closure of its Bronx branch, customer demand has increased at the Jackson Heights outlet, prompting the management to take additional preparation measures.

Customer Mohammad Rakib Hasan said the food quality has improved significantly. “The kacchi biryani and duck pulao are especially impressive,” he noted, adding that the in-house kitchen has clearly elevated standards.

Another customer, Nusrat Jahan Tisha, praised the expanded menu. “There are many new items available now that weren’t offered before. It’s a great place to dine with family—the environment and aroma make it a wonderful experience,” she said.

Owner Khalilur Rahman said he is personally overseeing the cooking. “Since launching the kitchen in Jackson Heights, we have received an overwhelming response. We have also secured numerous catering orders, and we hope this will continue to grow,” he said.

He added that previously all food had to be prepared in the Bronx and transported to Jackson Heights, limiting menu diversity. With the new kitchen in place, the restaurant is now able to offer a broader range of dishes.

The owner also shared plans for expansion, with new branches expected in Queens, Brooklyn, and Ozone Park in the near future.
