The Jamaica Muslim Center (JMC) has raised nearly $1 million at a fundraising dinner to support its expansion project in New York.
The event was held on October 24 at the LaGuardia Airport Marriott Hotel, organized by the center’s Board of Trustees and Executive Committee. Members of the Muslim community from across New York and other areas, Bangladeshi expatriates, religious leaders, businesspeople and well-wishers attended the gathering.

Renowned Islamic scholar and religious speaker Sheikh Usman Bin Farooq delivered the keynote address. Guest speakers included Islamic researcher Sheikh Dr. Zakir Ahmed, JMC Chief Imam Abu Jafar Beg and the center’s director, Imam Shamsi Ali.
Speakers highlighted the Jamaica Muslim Center’s longstanding religious and community services and emphasized the need to expand its facilities to meet the growing needs of the Muslim population in New York.
They said the expansion project would help strengthen religious education, promote Islamic values among younger generations and create a more effective social and educational environment for community members.
Organizers said the funds raised through donations and contributions would be used to implement the center’s expansion project.
