Dhaka Records Season’s Lowest Temperature in Bangladesh
Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, recorded the season’s lowest temperature today, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), marking a notable drop in winter temperatures. The Dhaka Meteorological Office reported a temperature of 13.5°C this morning, confirmed by meteorologist Shahnaj Sultana. This reading is lower than the previous day, when the temperature was 14°C, reflecting a continuing cold trend in the city.
While Dhaka experienced its seasonal low, the lowest temperature in Bangladesh over the last 24 hours until 6 pm yesterday was recorded in Rajshahi at 10.2°C. During the same period, the highest temperature in the country was noted in Teknaf at 29°C, according to BMD data. The contrast between regions highlights varying winter conditions across the country, with Dhaka showing colder patterns typical for the capital, while Rajshahi recorded the coldest temperature nationwide. Teknaf, in contrast, remained significantly warmer during this period.
The readings indicate that the country is experiencing noticeable regional variations in winter temperatures. Dhaka’s 13.5°C marks the season’s lowest for the capital, whereas Rajshahi’s 10.2°C represents the lowest nationwide.
