New York gubernatorial candidate Antonio Delgado has vowed to cancel the state’s current homecare contract with PPL if elected, arguing that the agreement has forced thousands of CDPAP small businesses to shut down, creating a harmful impact on the local economy.

Delgado made the remarks at a South Asian community–led fundraising dinner held Tuesday (November 25) at Sanai Restaurant. The event brought together leaders from Bangladeshi and other South Asian communities to express their support for the candidate’s campaign.

Speaking on behalf of the event organizers, Bangladesh Society Trustee Board Chairman Shah Newaz, Society President Ataur Rahman Selim, General Secretary Mohammad Ali, U.S. Interstate BNP President Kazi Azam, and several community leaders highlighted the financial strain facing CDPAP businesses. They expressed confidence that Delgado’s election would help resolve ongoing challenges and restore economic stability for the South Asian community.

Delgado assured attendees that reforming the homecare system remains one of his top priorities, promising stronger support for community-based service providers if he wins the governor’s seat.
