Bronx Community Leaders Congratulate Monwarul Islam on Re-election as Press Club President
Journalists and community leaders in the Bronx extended floral congratulations to Monwarul Islam following his re-election for a second term as President of the New York Bangladesh Press Club.
The felicitation ceremony took place on Saturday, November 15, at the Hasan Chinese Hotel in Sterling Banglabazar, where Bronx community representatives presented flowers to honor Islam’s achievement.
Among those present were Bronx Community Board-9 President Master of Law Mohammad N. Majumdar, BBA President M. Islam Mamun, former NYPD Senior Detective Masud Rahman, President of “Hridoye Bangladesh” Saidur Rahman Lincoln, and Bronx Community Board-9 member M. D. Alauddin.
Monwarul Islam’s wife, Afroza Islam, who is also a member of the Press Club, attended the event alongside him.
Additional congratulations were extended by community leader Abdul Muhit, Bangladesh Society of Bronx Publicity Secretary and journalist Sheikh Shafiqul Rahman, American Bangladeshi Welfare Organization Inc. President Abdus Shahid, and General Secretary Sheikh Jamal Hossain.
The gathering highlighted the strong support and recognition Islam enjoys from both the journalistic and wider Bangladeshi community in New York, reflecting his continuing contributions to the press and diaspora engagement.
