Bangladesh students win 18 Medals at International Math and Science Olympiads in Japan
Bangladeshi students have once again brought pride to the nation by achieving outstanding success at two prestigious global competitions held in Japan. At the international rounds of the International Mathematics and Science Olympiad for Southeast Asia (IMOCSEA) and the International Science Olympiad for Southeast Asia (ISOCSEA), Bangladeshi participants won a total of 18 medals, including five Diamond, two Gold, six Silver, and five Bronze awards.
In addition, one Bangladeshi student received special recognition as a Perfect Scorer, reads a press release. The international rounds of the Olympiads, organized by the Global League of Winners (GLOW), were held recently in Osaka, Japan, where Bangladeshi students represented the country with distinction and demonstrated exceptional academic excellence.
The Diamond Award winners are Arnob Ranjan Paul, Abdul Qayyum, Mohammad Zariful Abrar, Asil Al Jawad, and Manzoor Aroosh Ahsan. The Gold Awards were secured by S. K. Nafeun Islam and Nowshin Saiyara Sahrin.
Mohammad Zariful Abrar has been awarded Diamond (Perfect Scorer) — the first-ever Perfect Scorer in the history of Olympiads organized by GLOW at IMOCSEA & ISOCSEA 2025, held in Osaka, Japan.This remarkable achievement proves that with the right platform, preparation, and guidance, Bangladeshi students can compete and win on the world stage.
The Silver Award recipients are Fatima Binte Khaled, Sajdah Shazmeen Nuha, Mohammad Azaan Ibne Yadnan Rafan, Oishi Das, Syed Tazrian Anaf, and Nusaiba Noor Junainah. The Bronze Awards were won by Dewan Mohammad Sunan, Sunirmol Das, Mirsab Hoque Khan, Mohammad Asil Al Zarif, and one other finalist.
It is noteworthy that the students initially participated in the National Round of the Olympiads online from Bangladesh. After qualifying through a rigorous evaluation process, they earned the opportunity to compete in the international round in Japan.
