Global Oil Prices Fall Amid Diplomatic Efforts to Ease Middle East Tensions

27 October, 2026, 4:20 am

Global oil prices declined slightly as diplomatic efforts intensified to ease tensions in the Middle East, reducing concerns about potential disruptions to crude oil supplies.

Market analysts said the possibility of an end to the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel has helped ease fears of further supply disruptions.

As of midnight GMT, Brent crude futures fell 66 cents, or 0.57%, to $115.15 per barrel. Meanwhile, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude declined 44 cents, or 0.43%, to $101.32 per barrel.

Despite the latest decline, Brent crude remained close to its highest level in six months following attacks in Saudi Arabia.

On Monday, representatives from Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan held diplomatic talks with Iranian officials in Tehran to explore ways to prevent further regional conflict and reduce escalating tensions.

Saudi Arabia said the initiative aimed to establish direct dialogue among the countries concerned to prevent further military escalation. According to Iranian state media, all four countries agreed to continue discussions to maintain regional peace and stability.

Analysts said continued diplomatic engagement could further ease market concerns about oil supplies. However, future price movements will depend on the course of the conflict, security conditions in major oil-producing countries and the stability of global supply chains.
