Michigan State Swechchhasebak League holds introductory and workers’ meeting
The newly formed Michigan State Swechchhasebak League has held its first introductory program and workers’ meeting in Warren, Michigan.
The meeting was held Sunday (September 13) at a local restaurant in Warren, with newly appointed convener Foyez Uddin presiding. Member Secretary Jony Deb moderated the meeting.
The participants discussed strengthening the organization’s activities, increasing the involvement of its leaders and workers, and outlining future organizational plans.
The meeting also discussed a proposed program in New York under the slogan “Cholo Cholo New York Cholo” in connection with BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s scheduled visit to New York later this month. According to the organizers, participants expressed their views on joining the program in line with instructions from the U.S. Swechchhasebak League.
Leaders attending the meeting expressed their intention to travel from Michigan to New York with other activists and participate in a sit-in program in front of the United Nations. They also emphasized organizing workers from Michigan to support the planned program.
The 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly is scheduled to hold its general debate from September 22 to 26, with an additional day on September 28.
Among those attending the meeting were newly appointed joint conveners Sabbir Ahmed, Saju Ahmed and Kawsar Ahmed, as well as members Kabir Ahmed, Nurur Rahman, Anwar Hossain Layek, Adnanul Haque, Iqbal Hossain and Tanvir Ahmed, along with other local leaders.
