Mamdani Announces 1,000 US Open Tickets for New York Residents at Just $100
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the United States Tennis Association have announced a special offer giving city residents access to 1,000 US Open tickets for just $100.
The discounted tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, on a first-come, first-served basis. The offer is exclusively available to New York City residents, with each person allowed to purchase a maximum of two tickets.
The tickets can be used for main-draw matches at the US Open between August 30 and September 8. Depending on the ticket, spectators will have opportunities to watch matches at Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium, as well as access grounds passes for courts throughout the tennis center.
Mamdani said New Yorkers should have the opportunity to watch the world’s top tennis players compete in their city. He also pointed to rising ticket prices, saying many residents are increasingly being priced out of major sporting events.
The special tickets will remain available until they sell out. Buyers will need to verify that they are New York City residents, including through ZIP code verification.
The US Open is one of the world’s largest annual sporting events. Nearly 1.2 million spectators attended the tournament in 2025. Organizers estimate that the event generates more than $1.2 billion in economic impact for New York each year and supports more than 7,000 jobs.
The Mamdani administration said the discounted US Open tickets are part of a broader effort to make major sporting events more accessible and affordable for New Yorkers. Earlier this year, the administration also arranged 1,000 affordable tickets for New York City residents to attend 2026 FIFA World Cup matches.
US Open organizers have also offered free events and grounds access during Fan Week. The new initiative, however, gives New Yorkers an opportunity to attend main-draw matches at a significantly reduced price.
