Satkania Samity USA Inc. Holds Colorful 6th Annual Picnic in New York
The 6th annual picnic of Satkania Samity USA Inc. was held with a festive atmosphere at Belmont Lake State Park in New York, bringing together hundreds of Bangladeshi expatriates from Satkania and their families.
The Oak Pavilion at Belmont Lake State Park turned into a vibrant gathering place last Sunday as community members from New York and different states across the United States joined the event. The day-long program provided an opportunity for expatriates to reconnect with old friends, strengthen community bonds, and celebrate their shared heritage away from their homeland.
From the morning, the picnic venue was filled with excitement and joy. Families arrived with relatives and friends, while children’s laughter, friendly conversations, and reunions with familiar faces created a warm and welcoming environment.
The organizers arranged a variety of activities, including a traditional feast, cultural programs, recreational events, children’s activities, sports competitions, and entertainment programs. A raffle draw and prize distribution ceremony were also part of the celebration. Participants of all ages, from children to senior members of the community, actively took part in the festivities.
Speakers at the event said the picnic was not only a celebration but also an opportunity to strengthen relationships among Satkania residents living abroad. They highlighted that such gatherings help preserve cultural identity and allow younger generations growing up in the United States to remain connected with their roots and traditions.
Attending the event were Satkania Samity USA Inc. President Abul Kashem, General Secretary Amin Ullah, Picnic Organizing Committee Convener Mohammad Shafiullah, Chief Coordinator Ahmed Nabi Chowdhury, Member Secretary Irfan Nishat, along with other leaders, members, and invited guests of the organization.
At the conclusion of the program, association advisers Kamil Reza, Alhaj Md. A. Zafar, Abdus Salam, Sahan Uddin Chowdhury, Rafiq Uddin, Mohammad Tarek, and Shahida Sikdar expressed their gratitude to all members, guests, and participants whose cooperation contributed to the success of the event.
