Heaviest day of US-Israeli strikes underway in Iran

10 March, 2026, 11:16 pm

Air Forces of the US and Israel are currently carrying out the most intense strikes in the war against Iran, confirmed Tehran residents and US officials, challenging hopes of a quick de-escalation.

Raising the stakes for the global economy, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said they would block oil shipments from the Gulf unless the attacks cease.

“Today will be yet again, our most intense day of strikes inside Iran: the most fighters, the most bombers, the most strikes,” US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told a Pentagon briefing.

It was not immediately clear whether the strikes would mark a renewed stage in the war, or would be part of the final bout of attacks. Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump said the war “could end soon,” sending markets euphoric.

However, US’ war statements have repeatedly been contradictory and confusing.

Apocalyptic scenes have emerged from Iran of mass graves, ash-covered apartment blocks, and rescuers delicately pulling infants from under the rubble of razed buildings.

Despite the crisis, Iran’s hardline leadership has pledged to continue and prolong the war, apparently betting that their endurance and energy market turmoil would outlast the attacks.
