Syrian President Al-Sharaa Holds Talks on Economic Recovery with Saudi Officials
Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa met with senior Saudi officials in Riyadh to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and supporting Syria’s economic recovery. The meetings coincided with Al-Sharaa’s participation in the ninth Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference, which runs through Thursday and hosts global leaders and investors.
During discussions with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the two sides explored opportunities for collaboration in energy, industry, infrastructure, and technology. Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani and Saudi Minister of State Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban were also present.
Al-Sharaa further met with Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif and Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih, along with Syrian ministers, to review investment, reconstruction, and regional development partnerships.
The FII conference, launched in 2017 and dubbed “Davos in the Desert,” serves as a platform for showcasing Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic diversification plan and facilitating dialogue between policymakers, investors, and corporate leaders.
