Election Rally Held in Support of Sohel Ahmad and Subrata Chowdhury in Atlantic City
An election rally was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in support of Sohel Ahmad, running for Council at Large, and Subrata Chowdhury, a candidate for the local school board. The upcoming election is scheduled for 4 November 2025.
The event took place on the evening of Wednesday, 8 October, at the Bengali Club auditorium and was organized by the Bengali Club. Leaders and representatives from local organizations, including the Bangladesh Association of South Jersey (BASJ) and the Bangladesh Association of Atlantic County (BAAC), attended the gathering.
The program was chaired by Bengali Club President Rana Kabir and hosted by General Secretary Kajol Sarkar. Speakers at the rally included BASJ President Zahirul Islam Babul, BAAC President Shahid Khan, and community leaders such as Anisur Rahman Jewel, Likhan Kazi, Ali Chowdhury Tannu, Farhad Siddiqui, Shahrur Reza Chowdhury, Surajit Chowdhury, Kutubuddin Emran, Shahriar Ahmad, Shamsul Islam Shahjahan, Sabbir Hossain Bhuiya, Abdur Rafiq, Arif Lemon, Asif Anwar, Rahman Babul, Helal Hasan, along with the candidates Subrata Chowdhury and Sohel Ahmad.
Speakers emphasized that strong, united campaigning has already created significant public support in Atlantic City for Sohel Ahmad, Subrata Chowdhury, and other candidates on the Team Small panel. They called on the community to leverage this momentum to secure victory for Team Small and Democratic candidates in the upcoming elections.
The rally also announced the formation of an election committee, composed of respected community members, to actively support and coordinate campaign efforts for the candidates.
Team Small’s mayoral candidate is current Mayor Marty Small Sr. The Council at Large candidates include Patricia Bailey, Stepheni Marshall, and Sohel Ahmad, while Subrata Chowdhury, Cashwan McKenley, and Halisha Brizzers are running for the Atlantic City School Board.
