New York Bangladesh Press Club to Hold Annual General Meeting on November 8
The New York Bangladesh Press Club will hold its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, November 8, at the Nabanna Restaurant in Jackson Heights. This decision was made at the executive committee meeting on September 30. The meeting was presided over by President Monowarul Islam and conducted by Secretary Mominul Islam Mazumdar.
Executive council members present included Joint Secretary Alamgir Hossain Sarkar, Treasurer Rashid Ahmed, Organizing Secretary Syed Ilyas Khosru, Office Secretary Mahathir Faruki, and Executive Members Rowshan Haque, Abidur Rahim, Mostafizur Rahman, with SM Zahidur Rahman attending online.
The meeting discussed the timing of the AGM, formation of the Election Commission, increase of lifetime and regular members, death grants for members, increasing the number of executive committee officers, and returning to the club’s previous constitution.
A three-member Election Commission was unanimously formed, with club advisor Anwar Hossain Manju as Chief and ABM Saleh Uddin and Chowdhury M Ali Kajol as members. Additionally, 10 regular members and 2 associate members were approved by the executive committee.
Members must pay any outstanding dues by October 30 to be eligible to attend the AGM and vote. The meeting concluded with President Monowarul Islam thanking all members present.
